Prof. Rióna Ní Fhrighil lectures in Modern Irish in the University of Galway. She is an Irish Research Council Laureate and is Principal Investigator of the research project ‘Republic of Conscience: Human Rights and Modern Irish Poetry’. This project includes an examination of literary translation through a human rights lens. She is also co-director of the large-scale translation project Aistriú: Crossing Territories, Languages, and Artforms ( www.aistriu.eu ), a project funded as part of Galway’s European Capital of Culture 2020 programme. She has published widely on Irish-language literature, literary translation, and computer assisted language learning. She is co-editor of the peer reviewed journal LÉANN.
