I have been a Lecturer type A – Assistant Professor at the University of Galway since 2006. I hold a postgraduate masters of Education in English, and graduated with BA in English Philology at University of Valladolid, Spain. The University of Galway is also my alma mater as I graduated with an MA Spanish with a focus on translation only gaining a Ph.D. in Language Teaching and Learning later in 2013 with University of Valladolid, Spain. I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher education in 2022.
My research runs along two main threads: Spanish language teaching and learning and the exploration of children’s identity in translation.
