Susan Folan is a lecturer in Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge, the University of Galway. She is the founder and co-ordinator of Ireland’s only MA Conference Interpreting, where she works currently, delivering modules on consecutive, simultaneous and theory and practice of interpreting. She also supervises MA research on various aspects of the profession. She is a working conference interpreter at the European Institutions, where she engages with current practices in the field. She is a member of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Interpretation Academy of Experienced Trainers.
